Configuring Guest Print

Note: Guest Print supports OpenID Connect authentication only.

Step 1: Configure an OpenID Connect Authentication Provider

When an employee invites a guest user, they are redirected to the authentication provider’s screen. Employees log in to the Secure Release portal to be able to invite guests.

To configure OpenID:

1. Navigate to the Secure > Settings > Authentication Providers in the web portal.

2. Enter the following details of the Cloud Print application as provided by the OpenID authentication provider and then save the changes.

  • Well-Known Endpoint (e.g., https://accounts.google.com/.well-known/openid-configuration)
  • Client ID
  • Client Secret

Step 2: Enable Passcode Only Release

Guest users authenticate at the printer using their assigned system generated passcode. This passcode is sent to the employee via email.

To enable passcode settings, navigate to the Secure > Settings > Passcode Settings in the web portal and toggle on Enable Passcode Only Release.

For more information about Passcode, refer to the Passcode Settings document.

Step 3: Enable Guest Print

To enable Guest Print:

1. Go to Secure > Settings > Guest Print in the web portal.

2. Toggle the switch to enable guest printing.

3. In the Duration field, set how long you want the guest printing to be available for guest users (this setting applies to all users in the system). The default is 30 days.
